This year the Comet Skippers we will be hosting our 5th annual “Jump with the Stars” jump rope workshop on Saturday Dec 6 from 9AM to 3:15PM with a staff performance following and an advanced skill level workshop on Sunday Dec 7 from 8AM to Noon. A multitude of shows are scheduled to perform at schools throughout the Mason area by the Comet Skippers and the All-Star jumpers on Friday Dec 5. We have requested TV coverage of either the shows, practicing early AM on Friday the 5th for the shows, or the workshop itself on Saturday and/or Sunday. This would be off all the Staff jumpers whom will be practicing for the shows in the Mason Intermediate Building gym. This is an exciting opportunity for us as this will be the first time as many as 80 talented jumpers of local, national and International regions will be performing jump rope tricks in one room!
New for this year we expect to have an International flair as we have invited teams from France, Germany, Canada and Denmark. Mason as well will be hosting a film festival premier of the documentary movie Jump! from the filmmaker Helen Hood Scheer the evening of Saturday December 6. Most of the workshop Staff will be attending this premier. This will be shown at Mason Middle School Auditorium at 7:00 PM. We have chosen to present this movie to the public at cost(just $5.00 admission) as it does a fantastic job of promoting the sport of jump rope. The movie follows 4 teams of jumpers one of which being the Cincinnati Ropin Rockets as they compete at the Regional, National and on to the Worlds levels.
