Henry Christopher English Fund...

Henry’s Story:

Katie and Chris English, along with their three daughters have been residents of Middletown for many years. While Katie was pregnant with their fourth child, Henry, the English’s were told that the baby was suffering from a life threatening condition called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, or CDH. In Henry’s case, his left lung was not developing and doctors were not sure he would even make it to a live birth. However, on March 25, 2008, Henry was born at Miami Valley Hospital. Henry was immediately placed on ECMO, a life support system that would do the work of his heart and lungs. On April 4, Henry was transferred to the University of Michigan Hospital for further testing, care and surgery. Fortunately, the doctors have been able to remove him from the ECMO machine, and they are trying to get all of his numbers right before performing surgery to correct his hernia. At this point, it is unclear how many surgeries Henry will have to undergo, how long he will be in the hospital, and how much follow up care will be needed. What is clear, however, is that this has brought a tremendous financial strain to the English family.
So, to try to help the English family in any way possible, LaRosa’s in Middletown is hosting a benefit on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 ALL DAY LONG. If you order from that LaRosa’s on May 28th, The Henry Christopher English Fund will receive 20% of the proceeds. You do NOT have to dine in…as long as you present the attached flyer, the proceeds will go towards the fund. You can dine in, carryout or call in for delivery.
If you can not make it out to the benefit, there is an account set up @ US Bank under the Henry Christopher English Fund.
Please help the English Family and stop by LaRosa’s in Middletown on Wednesday, May 28, 2008.
