Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month...

Pancreatic cancer: Is still the 4th leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. Receives the least amount of federal research dollars among all leading cancers. Gets little public attention.

November, as you may have heard, is National Pancreatic Awareness Month. The campaign is “Picture your world Purple” where we are encouraging everyone to wear purple on November 15th.

Z Gallerie (located in Rookwood Commons) hosts their annual PanCAN event where a portion of all their sales for the week will be donated to PanCAN for research and cure. Our affiliation will be setting up a table during the week of November 5-11 to coincide with their week and we’ll be handing out literature on PanCAN to inform the general public.

The Cincinnati Affiliation will be participating in the Thanksgiving Day race downtown wearing the PanCAN singlets. We have not raised money for this event but people are welcome to donate and they can contact me at skrause@fuse.net or my cell number: 513-259-9541 if they are interested in donating to PanCAN. The objective here is to raise awareness –we’ll focus on hosting an ‘event’ as we grow. We will be stuffing race bags on November 19 at Bob Ronkers in O’Bryonville for the Thanksgiving Day race participants with literature and other items to again –inform about Pancreatic Cancer, PALS (Patient and Liaison services) and PanCAN.
