CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT TO BENEFIT PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS OF ALL ABILITIES

CINCINNATI, OH, September 24— Dramakinetics of Cincinnati, a non-profit organization that provides performing arts classes to individuals of all ages and abilities, will be holding a cornhole tournament and silent auction on Saturday, October 4.

The fundraiser will be held at Blue Rock Park, 3010 Blue Rock Road, in Green Township from 2-6 pm. It will be a single elimination tournament with a first prize of $300, and a runner-up prize of $150. Registration is $25, which includes entrance into the tournament, subs and snacks, and beer, soft drinks or water. Each team of two is required to have at least one player over the age of 18, and children under the age of 10 are free if they are not playing in the cornhole tournament. Registration forms are available at www.dramakinetics.org and can be mailed ahead of time to Dramakinetics of Cincinnati, c/o Colleen McSwiggin, 6746 Jennifer Lynn Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45248. Teams can also register at Blue Rock Park on the day of the tournament.

Silent auction items include gift certificates and merchandise from local businesses, including a signed photo of Cincinnati Red Matt Belisle and gift baskets from area schools. If you’d like to donate an item for the silent auction, please contact Colleen McSwiggin at (513) 598-8764.

Dramakinetics is the only non-profit in the Cincinnati area to provide integrated performing arts classes and workshops for people of all ages and abilities, including those with special needs. Managing Director Colleen McSwiggin said that, "Since we're still a fairly new organization, we still have a lot of needs. The money from the tournament and auction will go toward operating expenses so we can continue to offer our programming at a reasonable cost."

Recently, Dramakinetics received funding totaling $11,000 in operating, project, and program support grants for 2008 from The Manuel D. & Rhoda Mayerson Foundation, The Fine Arts Fund, The Scripps Howard Foundation, and the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.
