Fall is here and with the cooler weather comes the annual Natorp Mum and Pansy Coupon sale to benefit the Wendy Faulkner Memorial Children’s
Foundation. We are selling coupons for $5.50 which will allow you to
choose from a wide selection of 8" pots of mums or pansies from Natorp’s Nursery. These beautiful plants retail for $6.99 - $8.99 and come in a wide variety of colors.
As many of you may know, Wendy was a Mason resident and White Blossom neighbor who was tragically murdered on 9/11 at the World Trade Center.
After her death, her family started the Wendy Faulkner Memorial Children’s Foundation to continue Wendy’s legacy of caring for those less fortunate. Prior efforts have been focused on providing food and clothing to the children in the Mercy and Grace Orphanage in India.
Knowing the importance that Wendy placed on education, the Foundation decided to expand their role at Mercy and Grace and is now focused on providing funding for the children’s educational needs. In June 2008, the Wendy Faulkner Foundation provided funding for all of the children's books, learning supplies and20school uniforms. In August, the Foundation was able to provide funding to employ four certified teachers and three teaching assistants to provide education for all of the children in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Computer Skills.
All proceeds from the sale of the Natorp coupons will be used to help educate the children from Mercy and Grace which the goal of empowering them to eventually earn for themselves a better and happier life. More details on these efforts can be found on the website:
