Fritsch:
My name is Audrea Boyle and I am writing to you to ask for your help. I am sure you receive dozens of emails asking the same but this may be a little different. Last Friday you may have heard on the news about a home in Price Hill that caught fire. That home was my mom’s neighbor. These people are mostly strangers to me aside from the neighborly hi and bye in passing, but I feel compelled to help them in any way that I can. Early Friday morning Marcus Guinn woke up to his house in a blaze. His 3 children were sleeping upstairs and he couldn’t get to them from the inside. Quickly he ran outside grabbed a ladder from his work truck and climbed onto the side roof, busted out the windows and with the assistance of his neighbor, Dennis Abner rescued his three children ages 3 almost 7 and 13 from their burning bedrooms. Mere seconds later flames were shooting from this same window. They are so grateful and lucky to be alive but now are left with the devastating reality of starting over from scratch! My mom, Ingrid Boyle has kindly stepped forward to help them in any way she can and I am committed to helping her do that.
What I am asking of you is this…I need someway to get the word out that this family needs help! I have set up an account called the Guinn Family Fund at 5/3 Bank. Anybody can donate any amount of money to any branch. They lost everything except the pajamas they were wearing. We are working really hard to get them the things they need but we need help. The middle boy lost his eyeglasses and Lens Crafters in Western Hills has gladly agreed to make him a new pair at no cost…my small office has donated as much as we can and my mom’s office has done the same, my aunt has gotten them coats. As you can see we are trying but it is no small task, I feel with your help and the help of the community we may be able to get the word out and really help this family.
Thanks for your time… and Merry Christmas to you all!
Audrea Boyle

Comet Skippers.
This year the Comet Skippers we will be hosting our 5th annual “Jump with the Stars” jump rope workshop on Saturday Dec 6 from 9AM to 3:15PM with a staff performance following and an advanced skill level workshop on Sunday Dec 7 from 8AM to Noon. A multitude of shows are scheduled to perform at schools throughout the Mason area by the Comet Skippers and the All-Star jumpers on Friday Dec 5. We have requested TV coverage of either the shows, practicing early AM on Friday the 5th for the shows, or the workshop itself on Saturday and/or Sunday. This would be off all the Staff jumpers whom will be practicing for the shows in the Mason Intermediate Building gym. This is an exciting opportunity for us as this will be the first time as many as 80 talented jumpers of local, national and International regions will be performing jump rope tricks in one room!
New for this year we expect to have an International flair as we have invited teams from France, Germany, Canada and Denmark. Mason as well will be hosting a film festival premier of the documentary movie Jump! from the filmmaker Helen Hood Scheer the evening of Saturday December 6. Most of the workshop Staff will be attending this premier. This will be shown at Mason Middle School Auditorium at 7:00 PM. We have chosen to present this movie to the public at cost(just $5.00 admission) as it does a fantastic job of promoting the sport of jump rope. The movie follows 4 teams of jumpers one of which being the Cincinnati Ropin Rockets as they compete at the Regional, National and on to the Worlds levels.
If you would like additional details you can go to http://www.jumpmovie.com/. You may contact me and I can get info from the producer Helen Hood Scheer – or feel free to contact her at info@jumpmovie.com

Mutt March...
The Hugs from Jeni Foundation is a non-profit organization developed by the family of Jennifer Miley in her memory.
Jeni was a Class of 2000 graduate of Winton Woods High School. She lived in Greenhills, in Cincinnati, Ohio all of her life and was involved in many community activities. She was captain of the Drill Team during her senior year and was also involved in the choir and band throughout the years of her high school career. She was a volunteer with the HOSTS program, the Big Sister Organization and was active in the Christian organization, Young Life. She also had a great love for animals and was always finding homes for stray cats and dogs. She attended the University of Cincinnati majoring in Journalism. Her long term goal was to use this degree to have a career in broadcasting to help people on a world-wide scale.
In honor of Jeni, quilts are made each year for children who are in crisis centers or foster care. The fabrics of the quilts represent the many things that Jeni loved - frogs, cats, dogs, books, the color purple, camping and the ocean. Lakeside Elementary school children draw pictures on squares that are then sewn together with other fabrics by our volunteers. They are then given to Project Linus, a non-profit volunteer organization that donates them to Children’s Hospital. For more information regarding our quilt project, click here.
Each year the foundation sponsors the Greenhills Halloween Mutt March held on the last Sunday in October. Owners and their pets are invited to dress up in Halloween costumes and parade through the Village of Greenhills . The activities include music provided by the Winton Woods High School band, raffles, demonstrations and vendors displaying their products and services. All proceeds from the event are donated to the Stray Animal Adoption Program, an organization that finds homes for stray animals. The 2008 3rd Annual Greenhills Halloween Mutt March will be held on Sunday, October 26 from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm. To find out more information to sponsor or attend the event, click here.
If you would like to make a donation to the foundation to help us continue our work, please send a check payable to Hugs From Jeni Foundation to HFJF, P.O. Box 40701 , Cincinnati , OH 45240 .

Hamblin Halloween Benefit Dance...
Hamblin Halloween Benefit Dance
Saturday November 1, 2008
Sharonville V.F.W. Post 4369
3318 E. Sharon Road Sharonville, Ohio 45241
7pm-12midnight
$10.00 Donation per Person
Today a Sharonville family faces a life and death battle with Cystic Fibrosis. This debilitating disease shortens the life of its patients, on a day-by-day basis, as fluid fills the lungs and slowly asphyxiates the victim. Luckily, Cystic Fibrosis patients now have medical hope through technological breakthroughs using lung organ transplantation. Lungs from an organ donor are used to give the ultimate gift of life to a patient in need.
James Hamblin, age 38, of Sharonville, Ohio, has suffered all his life with Cystic Fibrosis. Despite his medical challenges and lengthy hospitalizations, he has worked full time for sixteen years at the Lodge Care Center, a skilled nursing facility in Loveland, Ohio. James has enjoyed cooking for the over one hundred and thirty residents and employees until this year, when on his birthday in February, James got sick and had to be off work over four months. He realized his disease was getting worse and that’s when his doctor suggested the double lung transplant.
James was evaluated by medical experts at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and is considered an excellent candidate for a double lung transplant. While the option is truly a miracle of modern science, its medical costs are extremely high due to the complexity of the procedure and the extensive pre and postoperative care. Unfortunately James’s insurance does not cover the full extent of transplanted related expenses. This leaves James and his new wife, Amy, on a daily roller coaster ride consisting of hope and uncertainty.
James lost his older brother Ron Hamblin to Cystic Fibrosis in January 2008. Ron had decided to be placed on the list for the double lung transplant but it was too late. Ron’s body could not fight the cystic disease anymore and he went on to a better place. We miss Ron dearly and we do not want to lose James to this awful disease. If you could see with your own eyes the agony Cystic Fibrosis has wrought to the Hamblin family, it would deeply affect your desire to help.
The Hamblin family cannot face this challenge alone. As compassionate family members, friends, neighbors and concerned citizens, we are asking you to help raise money so that James can pursue this medical miracle of life. We are having a Halloween Benefit Dance to raise money for James’s new lungs. We are asking for any donations you can make to raffle off at the dance. Also donations can be made at any US Bank into the “Cure 4 James” account. Every little bit helps.
Please find it in your heart to help give the gift of life. Thank you for your compassion, and please keep James in your prayers.
With sincere gratitude,
The Family and Friends of James Hamblin

GO Mamelodi...
Hi All,
Through listening to Q102, I've learned how big a part giving back is to the Cincinnati community. In fact it is a large part of what makes me proud to be from Cincinnati. I am writing because I'm hoping Q102 listeners can help out with this worthy cause. A couple of years ago, my church (Crossroads Community church), teamed up with a church in South Africa in the city of Mamelodi to help the people of Mamelodi, and has been sending work groups for the past two years to do things such as building homes, planting gardens, providing medical services, etc.
Mamelodi is a large township comparable in size to Cincinnati, just outside of Pretoria, the capital city of South Africa. Due to the past injustices of apartheid, Mamelodi is one of the poorest places in South Africa. Most of the residents have never had medical care and many do not have adequate clothing. The township of Mamelodi has many orphans due to the AIDS virus taking many of their parents. The AIDS proliferation rate in Mamelodi is around 40%. Many of the residents are also hungry and suffer from malnutrition.
Another work team is going again this November. Through discussions with the Medical Team and others, I found that the following items are always in short supply there:
1) Vitamins (this is the number one line of defense for keeping people alive who either suffer from AIDS or malnutrition).
2) Items typically found in First Aid Packs such as:
A) Band-Aids
B) Antibiotic Ointments
C) Gauze pads
D) Unsterile Gloves
E) Ibuprofen / Tylenol
3) New or gently worn shoes. The first year we sent a team, they treated a child with a laceration on his foot. He was barefoot and the wound had become infected. After treating the wound, one of the American teens that was there, gave up a pair of his shoes to the boy, so that his foot would not get dirty and re-infected again. A while later another barefoot boy came and started cutting his foot with a piece of glass, just because he thought he could get a pair of shoes this way.
4) Old, but still functioning eye glasses, reading glasses, or sun glasses. (There is an optometrist on the Medical Team that goes every year and matches prescriptions of glasses to the people he examines).
Donations can be dropped off at Crossroads church, 3500 Madison Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45209.
513-731-7400
Please bring donations in bags or boxes marked “Go Mamelodi.” The deadline for donations (so that we can bring them with us on the trip), is October 25th.
Please know that I am writing this as a personal appeal, and not as any official request from Crossroads. I just believe that the need here is bigger than any one church or charitable organization can handle.
Thanks so much!
Sincerely,
Stuart Rayner

Nickels for Nickie
“Nickels” for Nickie
Four years ago, our sister Nicole, was diagnosed with Arnold Chiari, a condition where her brainstem is elongated into her spinal canal. She is now a single mother with a 3 year old daughter. Her condition worsened to the point where surgery was required immediately. Her surgery was performed on August 27, 2008. Due to the surgery, stay in the hospital and recovery time, Nickie was forced to quit her job. This caused financial problems, which caused her to file bankruptcy and lose her home. Unfortunately due to complications after her original surgery, Nickie was readmitted on September 14, 2008, had another surgery on September 17, 2008 which led to another hospital stay and more recovery time. Nickie’s funds are very limited and therefore we are trying to raise money for her to offset the high costs of surgery and medical bills incurred due to this condition.

Mum sale...
Fall is here and with the cooler weather comes the annual Natorp Mum and Pansy Coupon sale to benefit the Wendy Faulkner Memorial Children’s
Foundation. We are selling coupons for $5.50 which will allow you to
choose from a wide selection of 8" pots of mums or pansies from Natorp’s Nursery. These beautiful plants retail for $6.99 - $8.99 and come in a wide variety of colors.
As many of you may know, Wendy was a Mason resident and White Blossom neighbor who was tragically murdered on 9/11 at the World Trade Center.
After her death, her family started the Wendy Faulkner Memorial Children’s Foundation to continue Wendy’s legacy of caring for those less fortunate. Prior efforts have been focused on providing food and clothing to the children in the Mercy and Grace Orphanage in India.
Knowing the importance that Wendy placed on education, the Foundation decided to expand their role at Mercy and Grace and is now focused on providing funding for the children’s educational needs. In June 2008, the Wendy Faulkner Foundation provided funding for all of the children's books, learning supplies and20school uniforms. In August, the Foundation was able to provide funding to employ four certified teachers and three teaching assistants to provide education for all of the children in English, Math, Science, Social Studies and Computer Skills.
All proceeds from the sale of the Natorp coupons will be used to help educate the children from Mercy and Grace which the goal of empowering them to eventually earn for themselves a better and happier life. More details on these efforts can be found on the website:
www.WendyFoundation.org.
Please contact me if you would like to purchase coupons for yourself or your friends. I can be reached by phone or e-mail (607-4280 /
dynette@bb4k.org) or by replying to this message. Also, feel free to pass this e-mail along to your neighbors, friends, and family who would be interest in contributing to this very worthwhile cause. Last year we sold more than 600 mums, I am hoping that this year we will sell even more. Please consider supporting this very worthwhile cause. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Walk for Adoption..
His name is Louie and is an Autistic adopted child suffering from RAD (Reactive Attachment Disorder).? He is suffering terribly and his family is bearing the brunt of that suffering with him. It is our duty and our honor to bring his story, along with thousands of other children and all adoptees still suffering?s to you in an effort to change their lives forever.
Louies story touched me personally, and his story reaffirmed my determination to help so many other children and adoptees that need our communities love, help and support.? Together we can change adoptees lives that were so tragically altered by adoption and the horrific emotional aftermath it can and does cause.
Louie love is hiking and the outdoors. I want to encourage his future in hiking and the outdoors. Today, we can help Louise with his love and promote not only his lifelong recovery but our affirmation as a community to the cause of goodness and support of so many we refuse to leave behind.
As an adoptee myself, I suffered 29 years with RAD and chose after finding my family and learning of my history to help other adoptee?s in hopes that they may never have to experience what I did. It?s my turn to help y community that I did my best to destroy while suffering from RAD.
I want to begin by asking you to say a prayer for Louise as he is a child we refuse to forget. Then, I would like to ask for your donation as outlined below. Your support of Louise and so many heartwarming stories like his will only further our cause to assist adoptees to follow not only their dreams but the activities that give them hope of a brighter future.
Our goal is a large one and we hope it will encourage public understanding of the needs of so many emotionally challenged adoptees young and old.
Together, we can begin to change the lives of so many people that deserve to live in peace, good health and a brighter future with ALL of our help.
Sincerely with the kindest of regards,
Michael Sansone?

Molly's diabetes walk...
Dear Julie,
With that in mind, I am writing to ask you to support Molly in finding> a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. During the last year, she has had to learn many new words and skills foreign to most five year olds. I think you'll agree that she has given our family a lesson in bravery, and now, we have a chance to give something back to her. On Saturday, October 25 at Inverness Park (in Birmingham), the local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) holds its annual Walk to Cure Diabetes to raise funds to help find a cure. This year Molly’s Marchers will make their debut appearance in the walk, and we are asking for your participation. There are three levels of support we are focusing on: your prayers, your presence, and your gifts.
1) Prayers: We ask that each of you say a prayer for Molly on October 25 at 9 am as we begin the Walk to Cure Diabetes, praying for strength, for bravery, and for a cure.
2) Presence: we want to show our support for Molly by walking with her. Our goal is that Molly’s Marchers will comprise a team of 100 walkers. Of course, this is probably not practical for all of you, but I wanted you to be included in the invitation. Each participant will receive a t-shirt for the event. You can sign up on-line by going to> the following web address:> http://walk.jdrf.org/register.cfm?id=87101186
3) Gifts: We also have a financial goal for Molly’s Marchers to raise $20,000 for JDRF. Eighty-five cents of each dollar raised goes directly to diabetes research. With your participation of just $50, we can reach our financial goal and bring us that much closer to a cure. You may want to write a check made out to “JDRF” with “Molly’s Marchers” in the tag line. Send it to JDRF Alabama Chapter, 14 Office Park Circle, Suite 115, Birmingham, AL, 35223. Or, you can donate> today using the following address: http://walk.jdrf.org/support.cfm?id=87101186
Finally, you can see a five-minute video of Molly’s journey over the last year is posted on YouTube.com and can be seen by searching the site for “Molly’s Marchers” (for Molly’s JDRF Video 2008) or by going to the following web address: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T4Qk2StpR8 We would love it if you would pass this information along to anyone in Cincinnati that you think might enjoy seeing it or be willing to make a donation (or walk for that matter!!!) We will call later today or tomorrow when the baby arrives to let you know if our family should be considered Cunningham South with 2 girls and two boys. Thank you in advance for your participation. In Molly’s own words at the end of the video...”and we’re waiting for a cure, please give today.”
Sincerely,
Stephen and Gretel

Kare for Kristi...
Our organization (Kare for Kristi) is dedicated to helping a 27 year-old wife and mother named Kristi Roberts. Kristi has been diagnosed with 4th stage melanoma. She has undergone surgery to remove a mole deemed to be cancerous. The cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in her right groin and she had surgery to remove those as well. Kristi is now undergoing interferon therapy.
Because of her surgeries and treatments, the doctors have ordered that Kristi not work. Most of her sick leave was used when she had her daughter, so she has already used what little she has left. Her medical bills are piling up while her husband is struggling to bring home enough money to cover their house payment and other bills, as well as buy diapers and wipes for their 18 month old daughter.
In an effort to relieve some of the financial stresses, we have put together a fundraiser for Kristi. On Sunday August 3rd, 2008 from 2-5pm we have put together an event in which several vendors will take part. In the Heritage Room located in the Shriver Center on Miami’s campus in Oxford, Ohio, shoppers will be able to visit tables that feature items from Mary Kay, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Premier Jewelry, Home Interior Thirty One, and more. These vendors have pledged to donate 15-40% of their profits to Kristi and her family. We will also hold a raffle with items from Avon, Ramsey Photography, You’re Fired, Autozone, Brown’s
Marketplace, and more. A bake sale will be going on as well.
Please come and shop ‘til you drop and help out this mother and wife! Your support is greatly appreciated! If you have any questions, or would like to donate raffle items, call Deidra at 765-580-2257.

FIT to FIGHT...
For Immediate Release
June 15, 2008
Contact: Elyse Jarard
Cell phone: (513) 368-9319
Email: elysej@venus4her.com
“F.I.T. to Fight” Benefits Ovarian Cancer Research
Two “thirty-something” friends dying from ovarian cancer inspired Elyse Jarard to organize a fundraising benefit to create more awareness about the disease. “Fit to Fight Ovarian Cancer Triathlon Festival is dedicated to the fighting spirit of the women who have died from this deadly disease. This year it takes place on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Corwin Nixon Park/Mason Community Center, in Mason, Ohio. The event presenters are Venus Fitness for Her in Montgomery, and the Warren County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Those not wanting to participate can make a monetary donation online. Registration for the event, and donations can all be made at www.fittofightoc.com. Proceeds will benefit the Barrett Cancer Center at the University of Cincinnati, Cancer Family Cares, and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) to provide much needed funding for research, support, and awareness.
Ovarian cancer is the deadliest of all gynecological cancers. If caught early, survival is as high as 90%, but women are not aware of the disease’s symptoms, or are quick to attribute them to “something else.” “Consequently, when diagnosis does occur, it is already too late for 75% of patients,” states Jarard, a Kenwood resident.
The triathlon festival is an event to involve the whole family. Encompassing three separate events, “everyone in the family can participate,” says Jarard. The events consist of a women’s only triathlon, a men’s only triathlon (the only one of its kind), and a kid’s distance triathlon. Participants can choose to race individually or as a relay team. The event is a good opportunity to empower all family members, especially those who have been touched by ovarian cancer. It gives each member a chance to do something powerful in support of their loved one. “I chose a fitness format for this event to highlight the importance of exercise for good health, and its ability to empower women” states Jarard, who is a personal trainer and owner of Venus Fitness for Her, a fitness studio for women and girls located in Montgomery. “We women are naturally intuitive about our bodies, but our society tends to dismiss generalized ‘feelings’ in favor of hard evidence when it comes to diagnosing and treating disease. Ovarian cancer’s symptoms are vague and can be attributed to other, benign conditions, so it is often overlooked until it is too late.” Abdominal bloating, pelvic pain, pressure or “feeling full,” and gastrointestinal problems are among the most common ovarian cancer’s symptoms.
For more information, to register or to make a donation, visit the event’s website, www.fittofightoc.com, www.hfp.com, or call Elyse Jarard at (513) 984-4437.

Charity Bike Ride...
We hope you can join us on Saturday, July 12th PM at 13 Old St, #B, Monroe, OH 45050, (513) 539-9183 for a ride with some of your old friends (and hopefully some new ones!) while we raise money for these two worthy causes. For those of your who have come out to ride with us in years past, we thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you again this year. For those who haven't Taken the Ride before, please consider asking your family, friends, neighbors and employer to sponsor you before you hook up with us at Old Street Saloon in Monroe on the afternoon of July 12th.
Registration is from 11:00 am to 12:00(Remember that some employers will co-sponsor charitable events or match the funds you raise! (Ask about it where you work!) You can print a sponsor sheet from this site, use the one attached, or pick one up in person at the Old Street Saloon in Monroe, OH. during normal business hours of Wednesday through Saturday 8pm until 2am.
We welcome Riders without regard to race, religion, creed, sexual orientation, etc. The only requirement is a desire to help us raise money for our event-designated charities! Here are a couple of fast facts about this event, of which we are very proud:
All money raised goes to benefit local charities - so money RAISED here STAYS here. We have seen progressively more people get involved with the Ride. In our first year, we had only nine riders. Last year, we had significantly more than that!
The Money aids the YWCA Breast Cancer Awareness Fund, Stop AIDS, AVNK, Caracole, and PFLAG
After the riding is over and we've all had a chance to collect ourselves, we'll have a fabulous evening floor show that is one of our biggest entertainment events of the year! Showtime is 10:00 PM at 13 Old St, #B, Monroe, OH 45050, (513) 539-9183 We will welcome many of the I.S.Q.C.C.B.E.'s premier members/entertainers to our stage, as well as some of our local favorites. We'll have some surprises tossed into the mix just for fun (including, but not limited to, many of your favorite Court performers). All of the entertainers will be donating their time, talents and tips to the event's charitable causes.
There will also be an auction of some fabulous prizes to bid on so bring your check books its all for charity.

Henry Christopher English Fund...
Henry’s Story:
Katie and Chris English, along with their three daughters have been residents of Middletown for many years. While Katie was pregnant with their fourth child, Henry, the English’s were told that the baby was suffering from a life threatening condition called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, or CDH. In Henry’s case, his left lung was not developing and doctors were not sure he would even make it to a live birth. However, on March 25, 2008, Henry was born at Miami Valley Hospital. Henry was immediately placed on ECMO, a life support system that would do the work of his heart and lungs. On April 4, Henry was transferred to the University of Michigan Hospital for further testing, care and surgery. Fortunately, the doctors have been able to remove him from the ECMO machine, and they are trying to get all of his numbers right before performing surgery to correct his hernia. At this point, it is unclear how many surgeries Henry will have to undergo, how long he will be in the hospital, and how much follow up care will be needed. What is clear, however, is that this has brought a tremendous financial strain to the English family.
So, to try to help the English family in any way possible, LaRosa’s in Middletown is hosting a benefit on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 ALL DAY LONG. If you order from that LaRosa’s on May 28th, The Henry Christopher English Fund will receive 20% of the proceeds. You do NOT have to dine in…as long as you present the attached flyer, the proceeds will go towards the fund. You can dine in, carryout or call in for delivery.
If you can not make it out to the benefit, there is an account set up @ US Bank under the Henry Christopher English Fund.
Please help the English Family and stop by LaRosa’s in Middletown on Wednesday, May 28, 2008.

Supporting Autism..
DEAR FRIENDS SUPPORTING AUTISM,
The Covington Rotary Club is excited to be gearing up for our 5th Annual Fundraising Dinner and Auction (both live and silent) on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at The Madison in Covington, Kentucky.
This year’s theme is Autism. Locally and around the world hundreds of thousands of children are afflicted with Autism. Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime. It is part of a group of disorders known as autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Today, 1 in 150 individuals are diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. It occurs in all racial, ethnic, and social groups and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls. Autism impairs a person's ability to communicate and relate to others. It is also associated with rigid routines and repetitive behaviors, such as obsessively arranging objects or following very specific routines. Symptoms can range from very mild to quite severe.
We are striving to improve the lives of these children in Covington, at Rising Star Studios, a non-profit organization that provides children with autism a place to be artistic, to socialize and to get support; www.risingstarstudios.org. And, we are also helping in India by providing support at a designated school for children with Autism, www.ashaforautism.com .
WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are looking for sponsors (see next page) auction items, whether large or small, to be auctioned off the night of the event. All donated items will be given proper recognition as to the donor and/or participating company.
We want to thank you in advance. Your donation, participation and interest are greatly appreciated. Donations can be mailed to our PO BOX or call Brandon for pick up 859.750.8733.

Helping Stephanie...
Remember the movie, “Meet the Fockers”?
That family seemed to experience one disaster after another!
As a real life sequel, we’d like you to “Meet the Fockes”!
Bob, Stephanie, Danny, and Shelby Focke have lived in Colerain Township for over 20 years. They are a family who has endured more than their share of hardships.
In June of 2005, at the age of 15, Danny suffered a severe brain injury which affected his balance and learning abilities. It took a full year for him to recover.
Two years ago, at the age of 10, Shelby was diagnosed with Wegener’s Granulomatosis, a lifelong, rare, and serious autoimmune disease that requires continuing treatments, surgeries, and doctor’s visits.
Stephanie, who has undergone treatment for Graves’ Disease, is now battling breast cancer, a disease that took her mother’s life when Stephanie was only 3 years old! In order to help out with the costs of continuing medical care, a benefit dance is being held for Stephanie.
Please join us for a great time on Saturday, April 12th, 2008 from 8:00 – Midnight at:
Lakeridge Hall
7210 Pippin Rd.
Cincinnati, Ohio 45239
Advance tickets are $20.00 per person, (that includes live music, beer, soda, and snacks), and may be purchased by calling Diane Fehrenbach at : (513) 738-7116 or (513) 579-5980.
Tickets may also be purchased at the door, space permitting, at a cost of $25.00 per person.
In addition to great music and a good time, the dance will feature a split the pot and silent auction to benefit Stephanie.
In order to make this event a success, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please consider making a donation such as cash, or a gift card, or any items of value for the auction. Cash donations may be made in person at any North Side Bank & Trust location. Checks should be made payable to: “Benefit of Stephanie Focke”, and sent directly to:
The North Side Bank & Trust
Attention Patty Schulz_
9315 Colerain Ave.
Cincinnati, Ohio 45251
Checks or any other donations may also be sent to: Diane Fehrenbach
3660 Herman Road
Hamilton, OH 45013
Let us know if arrangements need to be made for a pick up! Remember, no gift or donation is too large or too small. Hope to see you on April 12th!
